I. Membership Pricing
- The initial year of membership is $199.99.
- Subsequent years are $119.88 or $9.99 per month.
II. Membership Benefits
- Membership provides you with exclusive, online monthly updates of all courses posted on the NFLI website – at no additional charge to you.
The Institute’s course update service is very important to members because your state’s law of self-defense can change in important ways at any time, without any warning to you. Even though this may not seem very fair to you (and it isn’t), prosecutors and courts will hold you legally responsible for knowing the current state of the law. Course updates will be prepared at the end of each month and will be posted on the website no later than the seventh day of the ensuing month (and sooner when possible).
- Membership provides you with immediate online access to all self-paced courses posted in the NFLI website library, which will grow over time. Currently available are:
(1) courses on the law of self-defense for Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Florida; and
(2) a national course describing and comparing the products and services provided by insurance companies, legal services cooperatives, and prepaid legal services organizations which are available to help with your legal defense if you are involved in a self-defense incident.
Outlines describing these courses are visible on NFLI’s website at no charge.
- NFLI members get priority email and phone access to Stephen L. Sulzer for legal consultation with respect to the law of self-defense in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Florida. The list of states for which consultations are available will grow over time.
NFLI members also get a prompt, free initial consultation for law of self-defense issues they would like to discuss and a significant reduction in Mr. Sulzer’s usual rate structure if they choose to engage him. Actual reductions in Mr. Sulzer’s rate structure will vary depending on the nature of the matter, but will start with at least a 25% discount from his usual hourly rate or flat fees.
- Members also get access to the services of consulting and testifying experts for firearms-related matters, including matters relating to self-defense incidents and ATF regulation of firearms, at preferred rates.
- NFLI Members get immediate access to the NFLI Membership Community, a group that shares your interest in responsible firearms ownership and the law of self-defense.
III. Course Pricing for Non-Members
- Set forth below is a pricing structure for persons who do not wish to join NFLI now but would like to purchase NFLI’s online courses:
$149.99 for any of the law of self-defense courses purchased individually.
$49.99 for the national course describing and comparing insurance coverage, legal services cooperatives, and prepaid legal services organizations.
- Do non-members get course update services?
Payment of the fee for any individual course will not provide non-members with access to NFLI’s exclusive monthly update service. To obtain access to the monthly update service a purchaser will have to join the Institute.
